When a PCV valve goes bad, it normally causes either too much fuel or too much air to enter the combustion cylinders of the engine. The sensors will relay this information back to the engine control unit after the air and fuel mixture is ignited. As a result, the Check Engine warning light will be illuminated on the dashboard.

The CCV is simply a "middleman" controlled by intake manifold vacuum to maintain a slight vacuum under all conditions (1) The positive pressure from the crankcase is removed by the CCV which separates motor oil and combustible vapor (1) Oil goes back down the crankcase. Vapor goes back into the Intake manifold.

138 posts · Joined 2003. #3 · Jan 4, 2005. yupi am pretty sure the head gasket is blown :bawling: I notice more and more white smoke/steam coming from the tailpipe, and the white residue returned at the top of the engine under the oil cap (although it disappears afterward). I am taking it to avus autosport to get it diagnosed/repaired. xyDzSM.
